Major health campaign launch: Many STIs are hidden. All are treatable

23 Jul 2025

We have some exciting news to share with you about a significant public health initiative launching this August.

From August 1st to October 31st, 2025, the National STI Campaign – "Many STIs are hidden. All are treatable" – will roll out across Australia. This comprehensive campaign represents a major milestone in sexual health awareness and education.

Background and funding

Originally developed by Sexual Health Victoria, this innovative campaign has gained national recognition and substantial support. The Department of Health and Aged Care has provided funding, secured through a successful partnership with FPAA (Family Planning Alliance Australia). This investment demonstrates the government's commitment to improving sexual health outcomes nationwide.

Campaign approach

The campaign employs a unique optical illusion-themed creative strategy that perfectly aligns with its core message. These striking visuals serve as a powerful metaphor: just as optical illusions reveal hidden images, many STIs remain hidden without symptoms, yet all can be effectively treated once detected.

Key messages

The campaign focuses on several critical points:

  • Many STIs present no visible symptoms
  • All STIs are treatable with appropriate medical care
  • Regular testing is a normal, positive aspect of healthcare
  • Reducing stigma around sexual health discussions

Looking Ahead

This campaign represents an important step forward in normalising sexual health conversations and encouraging proactive healthcare behaviours.

Through this strategic partnership, as a proud member of FPAA, True are proud to actively contribute to this vital sexual health campaign. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the launch date. Together, we can work toward better health outcomes for all Australians.
