World Sexual Health Day emphasises the connection between sexual health and overall wellbeing, while promoting sexual rights and challenging barriers that can prevent people from accessing information and care. This year's theme, 'Every Body', is intentionally written as two words. It captures two important ideas at the same time, every person and the body they inhabit.
What does 'Every Body' mean?The World Association for Sexual Health says that the theme ‘Every Body’ reminds us that sexual health is always lived in a body. However, whether that body experiences care, dignity and pleasure is shaped by more than the body itself. It is influenced by the world around us, including the systems, structures and stigma that affect our everyday lives. Creating better sexual health outcomes means recognising the barriers that can prevent people from accessing the support they need.
