We’re proud to share the success of our recent PALM Workers Wellness Day in Mareeba. Our Health in My Language (HIML) educators delivered comprehensive health information sessions to more than fifty PALM workers, covering essential topics including sexual health, healthy relationships, and cancer screening. This collaborative initiative, delivered in partnership with Tablelands Sexual Assault Service (TSAS), the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), and NIB Insurance, demonstrates the power of multi-sector partnerships in addressing health equity. Beyond the educational sessions, participants engaged in cultural activities, connected with local service providers, and enjoyed authentic Pasifika cuisine—creating a holistic wellness experience that recognises the importance of cultural connection in health promotion.
