True was proud to contribute to conversations shaping the future of reproductive health in Australia at the Children by Choice 2026 Reproductive Rights and Abortion Conference.
Bringing together a diverse range of voices from across the sector, the conference explored current challenges, emerging research and future directions in reproductive health care. Several True team members presented throughout the conference, contributing their knowledge and experience across disability inclusion, culturally responsive practice and abortion care.
Natasha Milner, True's Education Coordinator for Disability, presented on sexuality and reproductive health for people with disability. Drawing on more than 16 years of experience delivering education programs to schools and communities, Natasha highlighted the importance of ensuring all people have access to accurate information about their bodies, healthy relationships and sexuality.
Jana Ventura, Project Lead for True's Culturally Responsive Health Unit, explored how culturally responsive approaches can strengthen sexual and reproductive health care for people from migrant and refugee backgrounds. Jana shared practical strategies for health and community professionals to build trust, address stigma and misinformation, to assist people in making voluntary decision-making.
Dr Paavi Davidson, Medical Officer at True's Windsor Clinic, also presented a poster showcasing a visual tool used during early medical abortion consultations to support patient understanding and informed choice.
The conference program featured a range of respected speakers, including award-winning writer and disability advocate Carly Findlay OAM and Australian broadcaster and author Yumi Stynes.
For True staff, the conference was a valuable opportunity to contribute their knowledge and experience while learning from leading experts and practitioners across the reproductive health sector. Participation in events such as this supports True's ongoing commitment to advancing inclusive, evidence-informed sexual and reproductive health care for all communities.
