True is pleased to present an outstanding lineup of Australia’s leading researchers, clinicians, educators and practitioners to explore the latest in sexual and reproductive health and respectful and inclusive relationships at the 2026 True Symposium.
Building on the success of last year’s event, this year’s Symposium has expanded to two days and a bigger venue – the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre – to dedicate a day to education and community topics including inclusive sexual and reproductive health education, young people’s perspectives and digital influences on adolescent sexuality.
Day one attendees will hear from Dr Jennifer Power of La Trobe University's Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society, sharing findings from the latest Australian Survey of Secondary Students and Sexual Health. Joining the discussion on young people's experiences navigating sexuality in a digital world are Giselle Woodley, Edith Cowan University, and Cameron Fraser, In Your Skin.
Lorna Rose and Scott Zadvravec from the Department of Education will also join us on day one to explore practical resources available to Queensland schools to support the effective implementation of Respectful Relationships Education.
Day one’s education stream also includes presentations from True's very own Natasha Milner, Annie Shewring and Alisa Anderson, to share their experiences delivering inclusive support for young people and students with disability in the context of contemporary relationships and sexuality.
Day two* will be officially opened by internationally recognised women's health researcher Professor Gita Mishra AO from The University of Queensland. The program continues with a distinguished group of clinical experts speaking to contraception, sexual health, STI management, gender-affirming care and menopause. Anjulee Singh, CEO of Children by Choice, will also join us to present highlights from the Children by Choice Conference.
Featured clinical speakers include Dr Candice Holland, Dr Milanka Kavic, Dr Jessica Yelland-Phillips, Dr Rhys Young, Dr Lindy Kanan, Dr Ethan Salleh, Dr Danielle Haller, Dr Sally Matheson, Dr Stuart Aitken, Dr Sian Edwards and Dr Deanne Curtin.
Together, they will share practical, evidence-based insights to support healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality, inclusive care to improve health outcomes here in Queensland.
Day two delegates will earn 6 CPD hours accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
