True welcomed close to 200 delegates, both in person and online, at last week’s True Symposium for two days of contemporary research, learning and connection in sexual and reproductive health.
Topics covered a broad spectrum of sexual and reproductive health, including youth and patient perspectives – and the connecting thread between both days was putting people at the centre of individualised and inclusive care and education.
True’s Chief Executive Officer, Donna Bonney, opened the Symposium with acknowledgement of those working across the sector to improve health outcomes in Queensland.
“In an age where people are being influenced more and more through the digital sphere, it has never been more important to provide evidence-based, factual information to support people through the various stages of sexual and reproductive health,” Donna said.
“True is proud to offer those working on the frontline ongoing opportunities to build their confidence and capability approaching the unique challenges and needs of each person within their care.”
This year’s Symposium received positive feedback from attendees, with the most valued aspects of the event being lived-experience perspectives, insights into innovative research and practices and the opportunity to connect with peers and industry leaders.
Now it is important for clinicians and educators to transform learnings into action after attending the Symposium, and to be part of more conversations shaping the future of sexual and reproductive health in Queensland by sharing their knowledge.
