Inclusive Education: Introduction To Key Terminology & Concepts

Understanding the key concepts and language relevant to people who identify as LGBTIQ+ assists in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments.

This online module provides an introduction to some of the key terminology and concepts relating to LGBTIQ+ communities, assigned sex, gender identity and expression and sexuality. It will provide an introduction to:

  • the meaning behind LGBTIQ+;
  • sex and intersex variations;
  • gender, including transgender and other diverse gender identities;
  • and sexuality.
