Looking After Me Program (LAMP)
Looking After Me Program (LAMP) education packages provide information about relationship and sexuality education for people with disability.
Please note that there can be extended wait times of 8-10 weeks for commencing LAMP during busy periods. If you reasonably suspect a child is at risk of harm call 000, or make a report to child safety. If you are at risk of harm (or supporting an adult at risk of harm) please contact 1800 RESPECT. |
3 step online booking process:
|
1. Register your (consenting) client online now with a few simple details.
|
|
2. In the biller section, pay by credit card OR request an invoice to be emailed to the biller.
|
|
3. Make sure your invoice payment is properly identified to your client. Unidentified payments result in delays.
|
Once payment is received a True educator is notified, and will make contact within the week to make an appointment. At busy times, appointments will be made 8-10 weeks in advance.
Please note: LAMP is offered at reduced cost due to online booking. Quotes, individual or line itemised invoices, separate contracts, requests for written information, pre-service discussions with educators etc are not included in this online booking price. Requests outside the booking system incur usual education fee: $350 (+gst) per hour.
2 packages to choose from
Your booking is not confirmed until after payment has been received. Please ensure you go through to payment by credit card or invoice. *Please note: True educators cannot advise on NDIS line items – a standard invoice (without a line item) is generated by True’s booking system when you book LAMP.
Under the National Disability Insurance Scheme ATO guidelines on GST-free disability supports, our LAMP sessions do not qualify under either Schedule 1 or Schedule 2 of the guidelines, so we must charge GST in order to be compliant with the Goods and Services Tax Act 1999.

LAMP Packages include:
- 45 minute initial appointment with the person with disability to determine individual education wants/needs. Support person to attend this meeting (eg. parent, carer, support worker, youth workers, service provider).
- This is followed by 3 or 5 one-hour education sessions. All packages must be completed within a four month time-frame from commencement. All sessions can be scheduled on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
- Take-home brochures and resources to support the education sessions held with True.
LAMP education uses visual resources, simple language and interactive activities to proactively teach people with disability about topics such as bodies, growing up, relationships and personal safety, age-appropriately. It does not provide counselling. A support person can continue conversations and learning following the Looking after me program.*
See our FAQ page for more information and details.
*Without a consistent and an appropriate support person (that the person with disability is happy with), Looking After Me sessions may not go ahead.
Access: 2 options available: Online via Zoom (4 sessions only) and face to face in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, and Sunshine Coast.
Access
Face to face meetings and sessions are held in meeting rooms at True Relationships & Reproductive Health.
Online sessions will be conducted using Zoom, which is a secure, web browser-based service. The participant will be provided with an individual link for each session, which will only be shared with them. No equipment or special software is required.
Participants will just need to be able to access a secure and stable internet connection and a laptop, PC, or tablet for the sessions with a camera, speaker, and microphone function. They will also need a current email address to have the meeting link sent to join the sessions. Having a trusted adult to support the participant throughout each session is still a pre-requisite if they are a child, or an adult requiring support.
Our commitment
True complies with the NDIS Code of Conduct in regards to confidentiality and person-centred approach. Once LAMP is booked there will be an initial meeting with the participant (and support person) to obtain consent to participate and discuss the parameters of information sharing.
True and the NDIS
True is able to provide NDIS funded education services to people who are partially or wholly self-managed NDIS participants (that is, their funding is not exclusively managed by the NDIA). For participants using a registered plan manager, it may be possible to access the services of non-registered providers such as True.

Frequently Asked Questions
LAMP packages use visual resources and interactive activities. They can be adapted to meet a range of needs; however, they are best suited for individuals with an intellectual disability or with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The approach will be tailored based on an individual’s age and abilities and this can be discussed at the initial meeting.
True strongly advocates that the person is informed and provides their consent. It is important that the young person or adult is aware that a booking is being made and that they understand the purpose of participating in LAMP.
True invites parents, carers, or service providers to be a part of the education process. If there is a support person present, there is then opportunity to continue the education process after the program is completed. It is very helpful for the person to have someone to provide ongoing clarification and follow up at home or in other settings.
A family member, good friend or service provider who has a positive, ongoing relationship with the person can be a support person. It is important that the person feels comfortable with whoever is attending the sessions with them. It is preferable that the same person accompanies the person for the duration of the program.
In some circumstances this will be appropriate. This can be negotiated at the initial meeting.
The initial meeting with a parent/carer or a service provider lasts for 45 minutes. LAMP sessions are 1 hour each.
Looking after me sessions can be scheduled to occur at weekly or fortnightly intervals. This time frame enables the delivery of the education to flow and provides opportunity for reinforcing learning at each session.
Sessions for each package need to be booked and attended within a 4 month time frame. This time frame enables the delivery of the education to flow and provides opportunity for reinforcing learning at each session.
Of course, please call 07 3250 0240 and we can help you.
Unfortunately no, the topics in each of the packages have been selected based on True’s experience of delivering relationships and sexuality education for people with disability.
The package that provides the most flexible approach is the 6-session package.
Extra sessions can be added to your package. Session topics can be chosen from the existing topics within the package options. Each additional session is $350 +GST and can be negotiated at the initial meeting or at any time during the delivery of the sessions.
Please read the cancellation and refund policy as it explains important information.
