True Relationships & Reproductive Health today announces the first TrueNorth Conference – an innovative, first of its kind clinical conference specifically designed for health professionals in Far North Queensland.

The event will take place on 12 June 2024, in Cairns, and will bring together health professionals from across Queensland to enhance their understanding of sexual and reproductive healthcare in the Far North region. Senator Nita Green will join the event as keynote speaker.

“Healthcare in regional, rural, and remote Queensland is as important as it is in metropolitan areas. 38% of Queenslanders live in rural or regional communities,” True’s Clinic Nurse Manager and Acting Statewide Nursing Officer for Clinical Governance, Jodi Mauro says.

“Everyone deserves access to high quality health care no matter where they live – this is what we always give at True, nothing less. TrueNorth looks forward to continuing to partner with health care professionals in FNQ to ensure reproductive and sexual health care needs of rural and regional Queenslanders is at expert standards.”

This event is suited to all health professionals including GPs, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and midwives with an interest in sexual and reproductive health.

A range of topics will be covered, including pelvic pain, STIs, contraception and menopause. All topics covered at the conference have been chosen with special consideration for the needs of health professionals in Far North Queensland, such as the prevalence of STIs like syphilis and MG (Mycoplasma genitalium), and the accessibility of pelvic pain and endometriosis services.

Tickets can be purchased online using the link true.org.au/truenorth
