Harmful Sexual behaviours

Harmful Sexual behaviours (HSBs) are behaviours considered outside age-appropriate healthy sexual exploration for children over the age of 10 years.

HSBs may be solitary in nature but more often than not, they involve others. These behaviours need to be considered in the context of the child’s life and addressed accordingly.

The presence of HSBs does not necessarily mean a child has been sexually abused.
