Dr Helen Wiltshire from True's Rockhampton Clinic recently attended the 8th annual CQ Youth Interagency Health Forum. This was a free professional development event which provided vast arrays of health information and networking opportunities to the region.

The event held on 25 October, was open to all NGOs, GOs and community members working directly or indirectly with youth in clinical, educational, preventative or support services.

Guest speakers included:

  • Community members
  • Youth workers
  • Doctors and Professors
  • Allied health workers
  • Nurses
  • Indigenous health workers
  • Teachers
  • Counsellors
  • Researchers
  • Lawyers
  • Police

The program included interactive stalls/displays from numerous agencies such as True Clinic. Dr Wiltshire was able to network with other regional agencies and share her own knowledge with local allied health partners. True works with CQ Connect at the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service as one of the agencies that offer support to young people in CQ to provide confidential, youth-friendly, and culturally appropriate health services.
