Statement for all clients of our Child & Family Service

True regards the well-being of our customers and staff as a priority. Due to the developing events of COVID-19 we wanted to reassure you that we are responding and cooperating in line with Australian Government advice.

With the impact of COVID-19 becoming more serious for our community, True Child & Family Service has begun to make some changes to the way we provide services to our clients.

We acknowledge this can be unsettling for children and families; however, we want to ensure staff and clients are as safe as possible.

We are still operating from our office on Grafton Street, Cairns and responding to phone calls from 9 am - 5 pm Monday to Friday.

Changes to our service provision:

True Child & Family Service are in the process of returning to face-to-face appointments in our Grafton Street office.

What will this look like?

It will be a staggered return for both staff and clients. Staff will work from home and office environments. Some clients will return to face-to-face appointments, others will continue with virtual service delivery for the time being. Some clients may still be supported via the telephone and/or Zoom - our online video conferencing software.

This will allow us to control the amount of people we have in the office and counselling spaces at any one time. True has a detailed COVID-19 management plan to ensure the safety and well-being of all who access our service.

Therapists will be in contact with all families to discuss their child’s progress during virtual service delivery and the possibility for the return to face-to-face appointments. Children that have been identified as most in need for face-to-face appointments will be prioritised. Clients returning to face-to-face appointments will be given detailed instructions on new health and safety measures in place for these appointments.

Our phones continue to be manned 9am-5pm, Monday - Friday and therapists can always be contacted by phone or email.

These changes will be reviewed and updated as necessary and all stakeholders will be informed of any changes. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Sandi Brown (Manager) on 4031 3590.

Thank you for your assistance during this period.
