The course aims to assist the candidate to translate theoretical knowledge in sexual and reproductive health into competent clinical practice.
This course has been developed to provide registered nurses and midwives with specialist skills to meet the ASHHNA competency standards for advanced registered nurses working in sexual and reproductive health.
The Clinical attachment module is designed to assist the candidate to translate theoretical knowledge in sexual and reproductive health, into competent clinical practice.
It is expected that the candidate will complete between 60-100 hours of supervised clinical practice with a Clinical Facilitator at their workplace with the approval of the workplace manager.

- Comprehensive Sexual & Reproductive Health clinical attachment workbook
- Sexual Health & Family Planning Australia (Fourth Edition 2016) Contraception: an Australian clinical practice handbook (if Comprehensive Sexual & Reproductive Health blended learning is not yet completed)
This course is open to registered nurses with a minimum of 2 years recent post registration nursing experience who have completed the Introduction to Sexual & Reproductive Health online modules.
The nurse or midwife needs to have identified a suitable Clinical Facilitator (Mentor) within their workplace to assist the candidate to meet their learning outcomes.

Upon successful completion of the Comprehensive Sexual & Reproductive Health nursing course, a certification of attendance – Clinical Attachment & Assessment will be issued.
Upon successful completion of all components; Introduction to SRH, the Comprehensive Sexual & Reproductive Health nursing course, Sexual and Reproductive Health Certificate for Nurses - Clinical Attachment Module and the Nurse Authorisation (schedules medicines) course; candidates will then be eligible to apply for their Sexual Health Nurse Authorisation in the state of Queensland.
