People in healthy relationships are also less likely to have mental or physical health problems or to do things that may impact negatively on their health.
In a respectful relationship both people feel safe, valued and accepted for who they are. It is important to be able to talk openly with each other. Having disagreements are a normal part of a relationship, as long as it is done respectively.
If you think there are problems with any of your relationships you can try and improve things by talking to friends and family, seeking professional help or reading self-help books. There are also relationship courses that people can do individually or with a partner.
